Global Seismology Hokkaido University

The Seismology Laboratory in the Department of Natural History Sciences (Graduate School of Science) / Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences (Faculty of Science) at Hokkaido University is engaged in a variety of seismological researches. Research topics include theoretical studies on seismic wave propagation, global and regional earth structures, the development of techniques for waveform analysis and geophysical inversion, studies on various scales of seismic sources and fault dynamics, and broadband seismology in active volcanic areas. Further details of the group's current research activities can be found on the Research Projects page.
